Bank Holiday Activity Ideas

Updated: Jul 8, 2021

It’s time to enjoy another Bank Holiday in the UK. For many families, Bank Holidays are an extension to your weekend which means more time to make memories with your child. Since Covid-19, we have all experienced many months of being at home but as lockdown restrictions ease, it would be great to go out and explore your local area.

There are many things to do in and around Birmingham, with some attractions being less than an hour by car. The weather is also forecast to be bright and sunny which is ideal for a family day out. Always remember to stay safe in the sun by wearing sun screen, hats, sunglasses and staying hydrated!

Here are some ideas –

  • Family picnic at your local park

  • Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Edgbaston

  • Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park

  • Kingsbury Water Park

  • Sutton Park has a vast space to explore along with children’s play areas

  • Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery

  • Think Tank Science Museum

  • Sealife Centre

  • Cadbury World, Bournville

  • Black Country Museum, Dudley

  • Coventry Transport Museum

  • Warwick Castle

  • West Midlands Safari Park

  • Drayton Manor Theme Park

Please check ahead if you wish to visit any of these places to see if you need to pre-book before travelling. Please stay safe and follow social distancing measures. (Restriction Updates) Whatever you decide to do on this Bank Holiday weekend, make sure you have fun and upload pictures on Tapestry!
